One of the examples of such events is our training course The story of one fall dedicated to providing info on how to behave on ice and prevent accidents.
„SURVIVAL GAMES“ Educational Programme
The programme consists of short-term outdoor gamified simulation training courses for youth created to provide young people with practical and theoretical skills on how to behave in standard situations and in situations of distress (in case of danger, disaster, limited resources, life threat) both inland and in the water together with the knowledge of rational and careful use of natural resources using the methods of non-formal education and experiential learning and through that promoting outdoor education, active and healthy lifestyle. Objectives of the project are as follows:
- to provide youth with a set of practical and theoretical outdoor skills (how to make a fire, how to find drinking water, how to make and use tools, basic physiology, meteorology, how to set the priorities, how to build a shelter, distress signals, orientation on spot etc) that they will be able to apply in the future and multiply in their social circles
- to raise the awareness of appropriate behaviour and safety precautions both in normal and challenging/distress outdoor conditions
- to provide youth with the knowledge on the rational and careful use of natural resources
- to raise their level of self-esteem, self-worth and emotional resilience through acquisition and improvement of a number of soft skills (cooperation, taking responsibility, decision making, prioritising, active listening & speaking, problem-solving)
- to promote an active and healthy lifestyle by involving the participants in outdoor educational activities;
The projects' long-term goal is to raise the level of safety in their communities, as young people are expected to be the multipliers of the knowledge they've gained
during the training.
